A little about myself...
I'm David, an aspiring game designer and producer. I've been making games since middle school, but finally decided it was what I wanted to do for a living in my third year of college. I'm currently a Senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Computer Science.
I am a strong team leader and organizer, and I love collaborating with others who share my passions. I'm interested in creating both digital and analog experiences. I specialize in mechanics and level design, UI, UX, and producer roles, but can also write and produce 2D art.

Figure it Sprout
Producer, Level and UI/UX Designer
May - June, 2023
Figure it Sprout is a grid-based puzzle game I created with 3 others over the summer of 2023. I designed the 31 levels, the dozen or so mechanics in the game, and the game's UI interface and overall aesthetics. I also took on the producer role for this project, keeping the team organized and on track with tasks.
This game was showcased at Dreamhack Atlanta 2023 and was sponsored and published by the charity organization Jennifer Ann's Group. An expanded Steam version of the game is in development and will release some time in 2024.

Still
Producer, Writing and Art
October 19 - 26, 2023
Still is a game we created for a week-long game jam hosted by Respawn Games in Madison. You play as an intergalactic resource inspector tasked with surveying an alien planet by taking pictures with your Polaroid camera.
My main role in this game was the producer. Our team was 7 people, so I ensured we were all on track, our ideas were within scope, and we had the proper narrative and asset lists ready so everyone knew what to do. In addition, I designed and created the art for the Report and Field Notes screens, created the background art for the Landing Site/Plains locale, and wrote the descriptions for the 38 picture subjects.
Playing for Real
Student Organization, Leadership
October, 2022 - Ongoing
The Playing for Real Creation Team is a student organization I have been leading since the Spring Semester of 2023. We give members authentic game design experience by working on team projects throughout the semester and doing group portfolio reviews and networking workshops. I work closely with the game design professors at UW Madison and Stuart Lipson, author of The Working Smarter Guide, to teach our members industry-standard game design and networking skills.
Mutts & Bolts Kitchen
Producer, UI and Mechanics Designer
September - December 2023
Mutts & Bolts Kitchen is an alignment-type game I produced and designed for in my Game Design 2 class. As the producer, I set deadlines for my 4 person team, created and maintained an Asset List, and decided on overall aesthetic and gameplay direction. I also designed the UI's layout and aesthetics.
